Rialto Beach is located on the West Coast of Washington in the Olympic National Park. It is known for its hiking trails, tide pools, and “Hole in the Wall, a sea arch that is literally a hole for you to pass through (only during a low tide) to continue on to the trail. The trail to Hole in the Wall is about a mile and a half.

Pearrygin Lake State Park

Pearrygin Lake is located within minutes of Winthrop in North Central Washington. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I had never camped east of the Cascades, but to my surprise Pearrygin Lake is now one of my favorite places to camp. The set up is different then what I am used to. The campsites are different, much larger and more open with a little lack of privacy, but that is the only downside. There were more RV’s than we are used to as we are strictly tent campers, but that didn’t bother us at all.

Highway 20/Washington
North Cascades Hwy

For our summer vacation we decided as a family to drive to Idaho to go to Silverwood theme park. We also wanted to camp a few days so we found a perfect place near Winthrop called Pearrygin State Park. To get to Winthrop the best way and most scenic way to go would be Hwy 20, the North Cascades Hwy. which is considered one of the most scenic routes in Washington. The highway starts in Skagit County, ascends onto Washington Pass (elevation 5477ft) and finally descends into the Methow valley, pronounced “Met-How.”
